Are you breathing properly? Many humans simply aren’t breathing correctly and that’s causing dire consequences on our overall health. In this episode, I was joined by James Nestor to talk about his new book, Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art. In his book, James explores the findings that he had about breathing and how so many people have it all wrong. He gives us insight on nose breathing versus mouth breathing, the benefits of nose breathing, and the potential outcomes that can occur if you don’t ditch the habit of mouth breathing.

About James Nestor:
James Nestor is an author and journalist who has written for Outside Magazine, Men's Journal, The Atlantic, National Public Radio, The New York Times, Scientific American, Dwell Magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, and more.

Inside this episode, James shares:

  • What put James on this path of studying the breath
  • Messages perpetuated that he found to be false
  • What happens when you over breathe
  • Nose breathing versus mouth breathing
  • His tips on chronic habitual breathing
  • The protocol for getting over mouth breathing
  • Long term effects of mouth breathing
