Sahara is an author, podcaster, speaker,  and founder of Rose Gold Goddesses. We explore her path to embodiment through dance and we talk about how movement (specifically twerking) can help you connect with your other side. Sahara shares the three different archetypes of Ayurveda, how these perpetuate and show up in our lives and what you can do to help get your dosha back in balance.

Healing from past wounds takes the ability to reconnect with yourself and the drive to regulate your nervous system. I am so excited to share this conversation on healing with today’s guest, Nicole LePera. Nicole is a Holistic Psychologist who helps people on their journey to wellness and healing themselves. We talked about so much in this episode including the empowerment that comes through your own healing and the power that comes from knowing you can destroy the parts of you that aren’t serving you. She shares how you can use future self journaling to create a more conscious awareness around patterns and behaviors you’ve developed, how to trace mistakes back to childhood wounds and her thoughts on psychedelics for healing.

About Dr. Nicole LePera:

Dr. Nicole LePera is a Holistic Psychologist who believes that mental wellness is for everyone. She evolved her more traditional training from Cornell University and The New School to one that acknowledges the connection between the mind and body.

Dr. LePera views mental and physical struggles from a whole person perspective and works to identify the underlying physical and emotional causes. She understands that balance is an integral part of wellness and empowers individuals to heal themselves, supporting them on their wellness journeys.

Dr. LePera founded the Mindful Healing Center in Center City Philadelphia.  She recently expanded her work online creating a platform for teaching these often overlooked components of mental wellness to individuals and practitioners around the world.

Meditation isn’t for everyone. It can be really challenging to get into a meditative state which is why I am an advocate for breathwork. The power of your breath is easy to access and brings just as many benefits as meditation. When you have deep states of resource and are using your breath to access something deeper within you, you can hold it all without feeling as heavy. You have to increase your capacity, by increasing your energy. This isn’t about biohacking or having a cup of coffee because true energy comes from within our bodies. In this episode, I am talking about why you should consider the breathwork modality and a simple 90-second breathwork experience you can use whenever you need to tap into your wellbeing.

Inside this episode I jam on:

  • A story about how I struggled with meditation and found breathwork
  • Why it’s so hard to feel yourself when you’re congested with the emotionality of other people
  • Why you need to use breathwork to unhook the mind
  • The beautiful shift of getting out of your mind and into your body
  • A simple 90-second breathwork experience
  • How breathwork gives you access without waiting for an opening
