We need to feel to heal. As we’re at home, the temptation to binge can be very high. But what if I told you that it wasn’t actually food that you’re hungry for? In this episode, I am giving you a few questions that you should ask yourself when you feel the need to emotionally eat. I share how you have to feel first when you want transformation and how transformation happens at the intersection of love and pain. I also talked about how to develop the capacity to feel safe in feeling your emotions whether they’re positive or negative.

The connection between anger and addiction isn’t something we can sweep under the rug. It’s clear that these have a direct correlation with each other and that’s something I talked about with today’s guest Karen Salmansohn. Suppressed anger in our body can cause us to want to numb and distract ourselves from it, which for Karen translated into food addiction. Today we talk about tangible tools to help with overcoming addiction and anxiety plus how you can start to forgive yourself from the things that you’ve felt shame around. She shares strategies to help bring yourself to a place of wellbeing even with the heightened anxiety of today’s world and how to lean into the contractions of life so we can enjoy the beauty on the other side.
About Karen Salmansohn:
Karen Salmansohn is a former stressed-out advertising Senior VP and award-winning designer turned healthy living expert, bestselling author, and book designer, as well as longevity research geek and teacher at ISHTA Yoga. Are you at peace with your body? This is something that I’ve had to learn to create for myself especially after years in the fitness industry as a competitor. Back in those days, I was using the sport of competing as a mask for my eating disorder. In this episode, I’m diving into how many fitness competitors are in the sport for the wrong reasons and why you need to move away from having a transactional relationship with exercise (and actually nourish your body!). I share why dieting isn’t a sustainable way to achieve weight loss and how to use your breath in an intentional way to help you reconnect with your body.

A lot of us struggle with learning to live in the now. Some people are constantly living in the past and thinking about what’s happened in their lives while others are focused on the future and what will happen next. Today’s guest, Daniel Levin is the author of The Mosaic and one of my personal mentors. In this episode, we talk about what a gift it is to be able to truly live in the now and how life’s uncertainty makes him feel most alive. He shares how to be more kind to yourself, how the words we use shape the identity of who we become and the power of showing up as you are.
About Daniel Levin:
Daniel Bruce Levin walked away from a huge opportunity (to work his way up from pushing a broom to running a billion-dollar business), to hitchhike around the world to find happiness and inner peace. His life has been dedicated to finding the peace and contentment that comes from truly knowing yourself. His mission has become holding the space for others to find that peace too.
He became the Director of Business Development at Hay House and played a big part in helping it grow from $3,000,000 to $100,000,000 over the next 10 years. He is the author of THE MOSAIC, a beautiful fable that touches the heart and soothes the soul, but to this day, he feels he is not the author. He knows it was the characters of the fable that actually wrote this story.

Our bodies are capable of so much more than we often give them credit for. Today’s guest, Sanjay Rawal and I talked about how limiting our minds can be when we are exerting, whether that be physically or emotionally. We chatted about his new film and how spontaneity in life makes him feel most alive. He dives into how he realized he needed an inner purpose in life and what he did about it. We also chat about why you need self-discovery and how that’s often much different from self-love.

Sanjay spent 15 years working on human rights campaigns for acclaimed artists and philanthropists, one of whom encouraged him to start making films. Sanjayʼs first documentary, FOOD CHAINS (2014), was produced by Eva Longoria and Eric Schlosser with narration by Forest Whitaker.
Sanjayʼs second effort took a sharp turn. Applying narrative cinematic technique, Sanjay directed a sweeping expedition film. 3100: RUN AND BECOME was released theatrically in the US in 20 markets last fall.

I decided to share a little snippet into a Hungry for Happiness Certification Program lecture where I talked about leveling up to be the best you, getting unstuck from what’s holding you back and how to manifest literally ANYTHING you desire. I shared why you should be operating from your “why” and why you shouldn’t avoid triggers.
