Why is loving yourself so challenging sometimes? In this episode, I had on Katrina Ubell, a former pediatric physician who now helps physicians prioritize their health and achieve permanent weight loss. She is a Master Certified Life and Weight Loss Coach and has seen herself the struggles that come from being busy, overwhelmed and not prioritizing yourself. We talked about her own journey of relearning how to eat when she was hungry and stop when she was full. Katrina and I discuss putting your mental health before your body image, how she learned to love herself unconditionally and how she stepped away from the need to control.

About Katrina Ubell:
Katrina Ubell is a Master Certified Life and Weight Loss Coach and host of the popular Weight Loss for Busy Physicians Podcast. After completing her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Dr. Ubell worked in a private pediatric practice for over 10 years during which time she gained and lost 40 pounds again and again. She finally solved her overeating and weight problem without surgery, pills, unhealthy crash diets, or fitness apps and has kept it off for years. She has leveraged her experience as a pediatrician and as a mother to help other busy doctors prioritize their health and achieve permanent weight loss.

Inside this episode, Katrina shares:

  • How laughter is medicine
  • How nature makes Katrina feel most alive
  • What she’s done to step away from control and step more into safety
  • How she relearned eating intuitively when she was hungry
  • Why you have to prioritize your mental health over your body image
  • How Katrina got to a place where she unconditionally loved herself
  • Reframing what’s happening with you in a way that gives you the result you want

If you’ve gone through a divorce you might be wondering how you can begin to rebuild yourself. Divorces are extremely challenging but there are parts of divorce that should be celebrated because it means you’ve acknowledged and honored your truth. In this episode, I had on Amy Pamensky, a spiritual teacher and mindset coach. We talked about her divorce and what made her realize it was time to move on from the relationship. She and I discuss what you should do if you’re worried you’re not in the right relationship, the resistance she faced when going inward to find her truth and how you can start to show up as the best version of yourself.

About Amy Pamensky:

I’m a spiritual teacher and a mindset coach. Instead of following the path that I thought I should take. I got divorced, I started a new business, and I moved to a new area. Seemingly out of nowhere, I started to meet incredible new friends. For the first time since 4th grade I finally started to feel like I could be myself and fit in. My business took off, my health improved, I lost weight with ease, and I felt confident to be the most authentic version of myself. I’ve turned my pain into purpose and now I have the honor of teaching hundreds of women how to do the same through my group coaching program called Light Up Your Life. Because I believe that HAPPINESS is your birthright and that you get to live a life LIGHTS your SOUL on FIRE.

Inside this episode, Amy shares:

  • How being in service and seeing other women come into their power makes Amy feel most alive
  • Her mindset before getting married
  • The shifts that made her realize it was time to end her marriage
  • Amy’s advice for someone who knows their not in the right relationship
  • Her resistance to going inward and finding the truth
  • What she believes about living in your truth
  • A truth she’s found about herself and money that’s had a big impact on her
  • The new story she’s created for herself
  • How to discern the difference between your truth and limitations
  • The identity shift she had when going from her married name to her maiden name

I am super excited to be bringing you today’s episode where I will be sharing something that is super special to me. I asked my publisher Hay House if I could share a chapter of my book with you guys on the podcast and they graciously agreed to let me do it. I can’t wait for you all to have this book in your hands and I am incredibly grateful to share this very vulnerable part of my story. This chapter is from some of my darkest days which makes it a little scary to share but there’s so much growth that can come from really sharing, expanding, and leaning into our pain and past wounds.

In this episode I jam on:

  • Why you should keep your heart open when it’s wanting to contract
  • A chapter from my book, Hungry for Happiness: Stop Emotional Eating & Start Loving Yourself
